As of 2012, there were approximately 810 million persons age 60 years or older worldwide and the number is projected to grow to more than 2 billion by 2050.
The rapid growth of a worldwide aging population poses a variety of challenges for developing counties. The shift away from traditional living arrangements such as multigenerational households and shared family resources to alternative living arrangements such as independent living and a variety of assisted living and nursing care requires advancements in program development and training.
Over the past several decades worldwide intergovernmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations have created aging delivery services and care programs. In order to further develop these programs caregiver training will be a necessity; as well as health promotion and disease prevention to help older adults maintain independence through self-care.
Eldercare Training Academy with over 20 years of Eldercare training programs and services in the United States offer a variety of caregiver training to both government and non-government organizations to develop and implement an Eldercare Training program worldwide.
